Fulham have stepped up their summer recruitment drive after securing manager Marco Silva’s stay, with a formal approach made to Arsenal over the transfer of Oleksandr Zinchenko. The London club, who have so far only signed French goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, are eager to bolster their squad depth.
Zinchenko’s place in Arsenal’s pecking order has slipped following the arrival of Fabio Carvalho and the emergence of Lino Sousa, despite his £200,000-a-week salary (including bonuses). The Gunners are open to selling the Ukrainian defender, valuing him at around £15 million, while Fulham – who have been in talks with the player’s camp since early June – are now preparing a formal bid.
However, the deal faces hurdles: AC Milan are also chasing Zinchenko as a potential replacement for Theo Hernández, and crucially, Fulham do not see the transfer as a priority. They will only push hard for Zinchenko if first-choice left-back Antonee Robinson departs.
