Chichester City, a semi-professional club in England's seventh-tier league, officially announced that their forward Billy Vega had unfortunately passed away at the age of 21 despite rescue attempts.
The player spent several years in Arsenal's youth system and was a product of the Gunners' academy.
According to confirmation from multiple media outlets including ESPN earlier, he unfortunately slipped while trying to save a ball that was about to go out of bounds during the match. After falling to the ground, his head hit the concrete wall by the side of the pitch directly, causing severe head injuries that ultimately led to his death.
