According to reporters from camel.live, after concluding his international duty and enduring a long-haul flight of nearly 24 hours (including layovers), Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo went directly to the club’s training ground to start recovery training as soon as he arrived in Catalonia.
Reports state that Araujo represented Uruguay in a match held in Chile, before making his way back to Barcelona via connecting flights. The lengthy journey left him physically and mentally exhausted, but the Uruguayan chose not to rest—instead, he immediately headed to the gym at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper (Barcelona’s training complex) for recovery training, rather than joining the team for on-pitch collective training.
The center-back is well aware of the importance of the upcoming fixtures for the club. Barcelona will face two crucial matches in the Champions League group stage: first an away game against Newcastle United, followed by a home fixture against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). These two matches will directly determine whether the team can progress smoothly from the group stage.
As one of the team’s captains, Araujo has taken on greater responsibilities in the absence of Marc-André ter Stegen. His decision to train immediately is not only to maintain his own best form but also to set a positive example for the younger players in the squad.
