The group stage draw for the 2026 US-Canada-Mexico World Cup has officially concluded.France, a Pot 1 team, will be grouped together with Senegal, a Pot 2 team, in Group I.
In their only previous meeting, France lost 1-0 to Senegal.
Senegal is one of just two teams France has faced without ever winning in their history – the other is the Irish Amateur Team. France suffered a 1-0 defeat against this team in 1921. Due to the development of football since then, national amateur teams no longer practically exist, replaced by official national teams (even though France has defeated the official Republic of Ireland national team). Therefore,
France has no chance to avenge their loss against the Irish Amateur Team.
