In Serie A Matchweek 15, Como lost 0-1 to Roma away from home.
Senegal’s 20-year-old forward Assane Diao started for Como but sustained an injury and had to be substituted off. The young player had just returned from a previous injury, and Senegal fans believe Como manager Cesc Fàbregas is to blame – arguing he should not have rushed Diao back into action. As a result, Fàbregas’ social media accounts were "attacked" by Senegal fans.
Notably, Fàbregas had previously talked about Diao’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, saying: “Diao is well aware of my views. I also had a phone call with his national team coach Pape Thia. To be honest, it wasn’t a pleasant conversation.”
