Free agent Paul Pogba is on the verge of signing a two-year contract with AS Monaco, with the deal set to run until June 2027. The move marks a potential career resurgence for the 31-year-old midfielder, who has been seeking a fresh start after a tumultuous period marred by injuries and off-field controversies.

Sources close to the negotiations reveal that all contractual terms have been finalized, with legal teams from both parties now reviewing the documents. Pogba is expected to fly to Monaco within 24 hours once the paperwork is cleared, with a medical examination scheduled for later this week. The French international, who has been training privately to maintain fitness, is eager to prove himself in Ligue 1 after spells at Manchester United and Juventus.

Paul Pogba was banned from football after testing positive for testosterone, a prohibited substance, in a doping test conducted in August 2023. The initial suspension was set to four years, but following an appeal, the ban was reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in April 2024, acknowledging potential "inadvertent consumption" factors. The suspension disrupted his career, forcing him to miss key competitions and contributing to his free-agent status before joining Monaco.
