The Men's Ballon d'Or is selected by 100 journalists, each representing a country or region ranked among the top 100 in FIFA's rankings. Each journalist nominates 10 players in order, with the scores allocated as follows: 15 points for the first choice, 12 points for the second, 10 points for the third, 8 points for the fourth, 7 points for the fifth, 5 points for the sixth, 4 points for the seventh, 3 points for the eighth, 2 points for the ninth, and 1 point for the tenth.
