In the concluded Premier League Matchweek 15, Liverpool was held to a 3-3 draw by Leeds United. Salah was left out of the starting lineup for the third consecutive game and failed to get any playing time. After the match, Salah made explosive remarks in an interview, claiming he was "being used as the team's scapegoat" and “did not think he was the problem.”

Former Tottenham Hotspur star Ahmed Hossam "Mido" has launched a scathing attack on Liverpool manager Arne Slot, suggesting that Reds star Mohamed Salah has faced racial discrimination in England after being benched for three consecutive games.

Mido issued a statement saying:

“I agree with everything Salah said. He deserves much more respect from everyone at the club. He changed the history of England. He is a true legend.”

He continued: "Salah has carried Liverpool for seven or eight seasons. Even when the team was underperforming, he still achieved brilliant results and won multiple trophies. Now that the team is struggling, he is being made to take full responsibility.

This claim by Liverpool's hierarchy is extremely dishonest.

Top players or legends deserve support. Raúl went 13 or 14 games without scoring for Real Madrid, yet the fans still supported him, and the coach never took him off for a single minute. Many top stars have been through such situations. He deserves support from the management, fans, coach, and media.

I understand Salah's anger. He should not be treated this way. Did he cause the team's poor results? Absolutely not. Claiming he doesn't track back defensively is completely untrue. Salah has confirmed that Slot asked him to reduce his defensive duties.

I don't want to use the word 'racism', but if Salah were English, he would not be treated this way by Liverpool and its management. Steven Gerrard was never treated like this.

He was criticized, but when he lost the league title or underperformed, everyone stepped up to defend him. Liverpool's management should support Salah.

If I were one of Slot's players, I would not trust him given his attitude towards Salah. He should stand up for Salah instead of taking him off. Slot's treatment of Salah is cowardly. Half of his coaching career is built on Salah and Klopp, because he developed on the foundation laid by the German coach.

The entire team is struggling and concedes goals too easily on counter-attacks. He is trying to make Salah a scapegoat for his failures. Mohamed Salah must leave Liverpool."
