The Swedish striker, who is determined to join Liverpool, finally issued a shocking statement on Tuesday, publicly expressing his desire to leave Newcastle.
Yesterday, Isak arrived awkwardly at Newcastle United’s headquarters at Darsley Park training ground. The public row between the two parties remains unresolved, and tension persists.
The £150m-valued star was fined for refusing to play against Aston Villa. To maintain his fitness throughout the standoff, he has been training alone.
Newcastle’s officials will continue to provide him with all necessary training facilities in accordance with his contract, but no dedicated coach has been assigned to him.
A staff member, carrying a bag of balls, was photographed training with the player—who was in Newcastle training kit—on the grass, and Isak looked glum.
A Newcastle United source said: “Isak just jogged a bit, then passed the ball to marker cones, and finally took shots on goal. To be honest, it’s all a bit sad.”
Five minutes after Isak arrived at the training ground through a side entrance, head coach Eddie Howe left the training ground, with no interaction between them.
Although Isak’s bosses seem ready to forgive and forget, the situation is unlikely to be resolved before Newcastle host Liverpool at home on Monday.
