Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe’s stance has shifted, and he is now open to Alexander Isak’s departure.
Since the opening of this summer’s transfer window, Isak has felt that his career at Newcastle has come to an end. He insists that if he is forced to stay at the club after this summer’s transfer window closes, he will never wear a Newcastle jersey again.
The Swedish forward has stated that he refuses to play and represent Newcastle, and he missed the club’s Serra Cup friendly match that concluded last weekend. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that the 25-year-old is unlikely to feature in Newcastle’s Premier League opener against Aston Villa this Saturday.
Eddie Howe is now open to the idea of Isak leaving. Isak grew angry after being told he had to stay at Newcastle and made it clear that he cannot be held responsible for the club’s failure to recruit his replacement.
Isak had already informed Newcastle’s senior management of his desire to leave at the end of last season. He believes he has invested enough time and effort at St. James' Park and is unwilling to wait for Newcastle’s transfer shortcomings to jeopardize his career.
The 25-year-old player feels that his career should not be negatively affected.
