La Liga President Javier Tebas accepted an interview and commented on Real Madrid's remarks regarding the Negreira case and Barcelona, believing that Real Madrid's actions were motivated by specific reasons.
“Real Madrid suddenly started talking about the Negreira case? They are the last ones to join this topic because Barcelona was their long-term ally in the European Super League before this.”
“Now that Barcelona has withdrawn, they are playing the hero. Everything they do is purely a show, distorting the facts.”
Prior to this, Real Madrid and Barcelona had already gone through several rounds of confrontation. Florentino Pérez previously stated that the case was the most serious problem in football and questioned why Barcelona paid huge sums of money to buy referee reports that the coaches had never seen. Joan Laporta responded by saying that the media offensive from Madrid had gone too far and believed that the opponent's move was to divert attention from its own flaws.
Laporta emphasized that Barcelona is currently strong and leads the second-placed team by 4 points in the league, and this recovery is unbearable for its competitors.
