Barcelona manager Hansi Flick attended the post-match press conference following their 2-1 comeback win over Eintracht Frankfurt at home.

On substituting Yamal

“He was a bit disappointed, but he had a yellow card and we needed more physically fit players. It’s not a problem – that’s just how it is. I understand him; everyone wants to play, and he thinks he can last 100 minutes. He’s young, and that’s a good attitude. I have no issues with it. I was a player too, so I accept it.”

On the match

“Their tactical setup didn’t surprise me. The Champions League is a different stage. Eintracht Frankfurt is a dynamic, fast team – you saw that in their goal. I’m proud. Rashford’s appearance was crucial because he gave us width and stretched their defense. We scored from two set pieces – that’s part of football too.”

On Koundé

“I didn’t expect it. His mentality is very important to us. But I’m extremely happy. We got the space we needed. The players knew what to do. Also, congratulations to my staff – they did a great job. I’m delighted the team could come back and win.”

On the victory

“I’m happy; these are three very important points. We’re back. The game wasn’t easy, but we created many chances.”

Two points behind the top eight

“I haven’t looked at the league table. It doesn’t matter to me right now – we have to focus on ourselves and get another six points. Of course, goal difference is important. We take it one game at a time. There are no easy games in the Champions League; all opponents will cause you problems and maintain intensity throughout. This is the top competition in Europe, even the world. It’s not simple, but we kept possession, tried to create, and controlled the game – we have to keep playing at this level.”

On substitutions in midfield

“We made adjustments at halftime. We wanted to change things up. Raphinha was popping up everywhere on the pitch – I’m not sure if that’s a good thing, but his intensity was very high…”

On Spotify Camp Nou

“It’s fantastic to play here. When the fans support us, it’s amazing – they gave us that extra five percent of energy at the end.”
