Chelsea and Ajax have reached an agreement to sign Jorrel Hato, with the transfer fee exceeding €40 million and a sell-on clause attached, though it is subject to approval from Ajax's supervisory board.
The 19-year-old Dutch international has agreed to a seven-year contract and will travel to Ajax for a medical pending contract approval.
Chelsea are closing in on completing Hato's transfer, with personal terms already in place.
Hato began his career at Sparta Rotterdam, came through Ajax's youth system, and has made 111 appearances for Ajax's first team to date.
He has captained Ajax, operating as a left-back and centre-back.
Hato has earned six caps for the Netherlands national team, having previously been a regular for the youth teams.
